Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a spectacular journey to the South Face of Annapurna I - a pleasant hike through the diverse Nepalese landscape and its culture. The itinerary for Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is designed for trekkers who wish to reach the Annapurna base camp in a relaxed manner with visits to World Heritage Sites and Poon Hill.

Outline Itinerary
Day 1 : Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul then Trek to Tikhedhunga.
Day 2 : Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,750 m/ 9,020 ft)
Day 3 : Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani(2,700m/8,860ft) via Poon Hill (3,210m/10,529ft)
Day 4 : Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2170m/7120ft)
Day 5 : Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan
Day 6 : Trek from Dovan to Deurali (3230m/10,595ft)
Day 7 : Trek from Deurali to Annapurna base Camp (4,130m/13,545ft)
Day 8 : Trek from Annapurna base camp to Dovan
Day 9 : Trek from Dovan to Jhinu Danda (1760m/5770 ft)
Day 10 : Trek to Birethanti and drive to Pokhara
Day 11 : Drive to Kathmandu.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul then Trek to Tikhedhunga. Drive to Nayapul (trek starting place) via Pokhara by private Car / Van, we then begin the trek to Tikhedhunga. After having early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kathmandu, we drive to Nayapul (the trek starting place) via Pokhara, 6 hours scenic drive from Kathmandu. After reaching Nayapul, our trek starts! After a 15 minutes short walk along the bank of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1065m) a large village that has many shops & teahouses. From there, the trail continues through the village. The trail follows the north bank of the Burundi Khola. From there, the trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1495m & after the short climb, we reach Tikhedhunga at 1525m. This trek offers a short & relatively easy day, during journey & allows us to become used to the experience of trekking in Nepal. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 02: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,750 m/ 9,020 ft) Leaving Tikhedhunga, we begin our journey with a steep climb to Ulleri. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2070m. Then the trail continues to ascend more gently, through fine forests of oak & rhododendron towards Banthanti at 2250m. Then we make our trek towards Nangethanti at 2460m. After an hour's gentle walk from Nangethanti, we will reach Ghorepani at 2775m. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 03: Hiking to Poonhill - back to Ghorepani, and trek to Tadapani. This morning, we will get up early in the morning, and go for hiking to Poon Hill. From here we will see a superb view of sunrise, and a panoramic view of the Himalayas, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Fishtail, and many more. After the excursion to Poon Hill, we will go back to our hotel; take a hot breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 04: Trek to Chhomrong. The day starts with steep downhill. Leaving Tadapani, we descend steeply through forests and then the trail eases as we reach Gurjung which is the village of Gurung people. We then take an easy walk to Chhomorung (2020m). Overnight at Guest House.

Day 05: Trek to Dovan Today the trail drops down to the Chhomorung Khola & again we continue climbing to Khuda Ghar at 2380m where there is an ACAP Check post, and continuous walking to Dovan. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 06: Trek to Deurali The day begins with the climb through bamboo, then rhododendron forests to Dovan, Himalayan Hotel and on to Hinko at 3020m. The accommodation will be in Deurali, on the ridge above Hinko & is the stretch of trail that is most subject to avalanche. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 07: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (Annapurna Sanctuary) Today the trail climbs on past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) to the Annapurna Base Camp. Since it is totally surrounded by mountains, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. We can either end the day at Machhapuchhre Base Camp or trek two hours on to Annapurna Base Camp. There, we will view the mountain scenery which is even more spectacular. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 08: Trek from Annapurna base camp to Dovan Explore the hidden Valley in the morning and track back to Dovan. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 09: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot spring). Today the trek starts from dovan to jhinu danda. Enjoy the evening at the hot spring. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 10: Trek to Birethanti and drive to Pokhara We take a 4 -5 hours easy walking downhill following the Modi river to Birethanti where the road links to Pokhara; then an hour car drive brings us to Pokhara, the lake city. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu Our trip to Nepal ends today. We will be transferred from Pokhara to kathmandu. Later dropped off at the hotel by a company representative. Overnight at the hotel.

  •   Lunch and evening meals in Kathmandu and Pokhara (and also in the case of early return from the mountain than the scheduled itinerary)
  •   International flights
  •   Travel and rescue insurance
  •   Personal expenses (phone calls, laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, extra porters, bottle or boiled water, shower, etc.)
